MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of Luzon will experience rain shower while Visayas and Mindanao will see generally fair weather on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
In Pagasa’s 5 p.m. weather briefing, weather specialist Veronica Torres said that shear line, or the convergence of the northeast monsoon or “amihan” and easterlies is currently bringing cloudy skies, thunder, and scattered rains in Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Bicol, Romblon, Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro.

The intertropical convergence zone is set to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunder in SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City), Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-tawi, and Palawan.

Article continues after this advertisement“We expect that the shear line will continue to bring rains in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol region and Mimaropa… Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or ‘amihan’ will continue to bring rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora,” Torres said in Filipino.

Meanwhile, the weather specialist said that generally fair weather with chances of localized thunderstorms will be expected in Visayas and Mindanao.
